I have a female dempsey around 7 inch and a none sexed jag around 8 inch, they r always at each other, nothing to bruital not even a lip lock yet....but can the dempsey coexist with my jag? The dempsey used to b king untill the oscar out grew her now the jags done the same thing so I fear for her.

It depends on the size of the tank and the aggressiveness of the jaguar. Eventually you could reach a point where the Dempsey exists at the jag's leisure. That is a bad place to be.

or they can maybe breed .... or kill each othe r

Make love not war! :headbang2

I've heard so many mixed opionions on Jags... I have a 1" I am growing and I am worried at what the future may hold.

I think it all depends on the size of your tank and territories. If the Jag views the dempsey as a threat to his/her territory or food source your dempsey will be toast. I hate to say it but If your dempsey can't hang with a larger oscar he has little to no chance with a growing jag.

The oscar & dempsey never fight, but the oscar is now king no 1 challenges him-he swims the entire tank. The jag & dempsey have territories they defend, with the jags being over half the tank lol.

I have a small 1.5 inch jag and a 6 inch jd. this might become a problem for me down the road too haha. i have seen plenty of people keep jags in tanks with all kinds of fish and that includes jd's so I would say its gonna depend on how ur jag's personality is.
