Hey, wanted to here from all of you that breed your fish. My pair of jags have eaten there eggs from this last spawn from a couple days ago. The first spawn I tried to keep with the parents survived fine a couple days of being wigglers then they were eaten. I had some input from here and read in the past it may take a few spawns before they get it down. The thing that confuses me is this time they started eating the eggs the first night! What do you all think?:irked:

they are still new to it so like you said you heard from others, its going to take several tries before they get it right, if they continue to do this though you may want to pull the eggs once hes fertilized them but i wouldnt do this till theyv had at least 4 tries on their own, are they in the tank by themselves and is there alot of commotion around their tank? other tankmates or alot of outside activity could also make them nervous and eat the eggs/wigglers GOOD LUCK

Yea I don't really want to take the eggs out...I'll see what happens the next few times or so. There in a 75 Gal. there only 6 maybe 7" and in there alone. There is not a lot of commotion but they are pretty alert and don't show any sign of stress. Just wondering how many out there experience this with there own pairs. Thanks
