Ok the male I have had for about 3 weeks, while the female only a week. As soon as they were in together they started breeding and neither has eaten anything all week. So I stopped feeding for two days just to get them hungry, I throw some pellets in and they don't even look. I tried some frozen krill and they didn't care.... I didn't know jags were so picky I thought they nailed anything you put in the tank??? will they be aggressive on eating feeders???? I want them to eat something otherwise once the fry becomes free swimming there gonna eat those.

I had a 10" female jag and i NEVER saw her eat, and the two other owners she has been to have said she had eaten for her, i had her for a year and never saw her eat, i think it is just one of those things, obviously she did other wise she would be dead.

I am going to suggest what has worked for me... worms, night crawlers, super worms, wax worms, etc. Never been passed up.

I guess these JAGS can be a pain in the butt to feed..

My WC adult was pellet trained at time of purchase...

But then I started feeding it some freeze-dried krill and they it stopped on the pellets, so then I mixed in some live super-worms, and now all the fish wants is the worms, it won't touch the krill or the pellets.

I starved the fish for 5 days, but then gave in and started with the live super-worms again.

I had the same problem. When my first pair of jags bred they stopped eating. I removed the babies about a week after they became free swimming and the parents started eating again. Unfortunately though, the male killed the female a short time later.

Don't worry, they can go a long time without eating.
