Jaguar and oscar ?

hey ppl, my friend needs to get rid of his jaguar and offered it to me for free as it is killing all his fish as they are small. only tank i could put it in is with my adult oscar would they be compatible together ? also the tank is only a 4foot tank im not sure of all dimensions i think its pretty standard though. take or pass up the offer ?

Even if it's a 4'x4', There's not enough footprint for 2 fish capable of reaching 15" in a couple years, especially if the Jag is a killing machine to start with...
 
You would be better with a 6' tank, bigger the better.. Having some sort of visibility breaking point in the center like driftwood or fake plants would help also. Also good water quality/filtration will make them less miserable as well..
 
ok cool so minimum of 6' would house 2 cichlids of that size. thanks for the input and no i wont be taking the jag off my mates hands unless i can find a 6' or another 4' just for the jag. thanks again :)

Totally aggreed.
I keep 2 large ciclids and introducing the wood as visibility breaking point changed the fish' behaviour for the better

a jag in a 4 foot tank? nope! they need larger than 100 gal by themselves. it would probably kill your oscar and then maybe die itself. if it didn't die then it would live a very unhappy life until it did die.
