My pair have just started to build a nest, head shake, chase everybody away from the nest. The question is why are they doing this now at 5 inches and 4 months?? Seems too early I think..What age do they begin to spawn normally?

my terrors started at 3.5 months, i know a guy who has flower horns breeding within a month or 2 tops

Maybe after he got them. Takes most cichlids atleast 1-2 months to get to an inch and really get going. I have a batch of Midas fry that aren't even 1" yet and are over a month old. Thats with power feeding and temp at 82 degrees. A mistake most people make is they base the age of their fish on when they got them. Most likely the fish is 3-6 months old when they get them.
