jaguar breeding size inquiry

i have a 5 inch male and 3 inch female that have paired up.im wondering at what size can they actually breed? and will this stunt the females growth some?
 
They can breed at the size they are now. Although they may need a few practice spawns to get it right.
It takes a lot of energy to produce and protect a spawn.
If there are other fish in the tank, and she has to constantly defend the fry from interlopers (or an over zealous male) , and if it prevents her from getting enough nutrition, this could stunt her growth.

had to eventually remove the male,,was chasing her around nipping the underside of her etc,only dividers i have on hand she can squeeze through so possibly grow her out a little or let her establish the tank as hers before putting him back in
