Jaguar cat and bichirs?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
which fish are you talking about it possible to keep them togeather but which polypterus are you talking and do you know the scientific name of the catfish

jag cats aren't as bad at eating tankmates as other sa catfish. I think it would work fine. Bichirs are pretty good at not allowing themselves to be eaten

Only problem I could forsee are that bichirs tend not to be very aggressive eaters (except senegals in a lot of cases), and I don't have any personal experience w/ jaguar cats but I know most SA cats are eating machines, so you might run into trouble getting the bichirs to eat before the cat munches all of the food...

Unless of course if you overfeed the hell out of the tank but that will create new problems...:)

lol, I do overfeed, but I rectify with feeding only 1 time every day or two, over filtering like mad, and frequent water changes. As far as which bichir, it looks like there will be ultimately an ornate, 2 endlis and perhaps a lap or something similar. When the bichirs start to get to the point that they may eat the jag, I would move him into a sengal/palmas/delhzi tank. Sound good?
