Hi All,

Has anyone sucessfully kept a Jaguar Cat with Clown Loaches? I currently have 10 loaches and am looking in the future to get 10 more. I was wonder if I could keep 3 Jaguar Cats with them. Planetcatfish.com describes the Jaguar Cat as peacefull but will fiercely defend its hiding place. This concerns me as I don't want any loaches to get torn up by the Jaguar Cat. If they are compatible, is 3 Jaguar Cats doable or should they be kept as a single?

Thanks.

If you have hiding places youmay never see ths jags.I have one that is about four and a half inches and it spends all of its time in a driftwood hollow.I even try to spy on it in the middle of the nite with a flashlight but it does not come out.I dont know how it finds enough food.

I have read that they will hide all the time but they are such a cool looking fish that I was thinking of giving it a try. In the end, this may be a deal breaker as I don't see much upside in keeping a fish that I will never see. We'll see, still researching potential catfishes for my tank.

Thanks for the reply.

i have 15 clown loaches and jag cats at first they jags chased a clown loach or two but after a few days all settled down and now i barely see the jag cats at all the just hide in a three foot ship wreck in the middle of the tank

Since the Jags will only be active at night, have you notice any damge done to your CLs in the morning? Also, how may Jags to you have? Thanks.

The jag is one of the most beautiful cats but I must say that I am a little disapointed since I cant really appreciate its beauty.

The thought of it never coming out has me thinking about scratching it off the list of potential stock for my new tank. I have some time to make up my mind on the matter as it will be 8 weeks before I get the new tank.
