I know the tank is big enough for this fish but will it be okay with a red devil and a red tiger mota ? I have plenty of hiding spots and plants to break the line of sight.

I am of the more experimental mind but on paper I'd have to agree with Dave.

Will even rd and rtm cohab in a 125 gal without one killing the other? I'd not think so but I am cichlid challenged for now.

Simple answer is no.
Both cichlids are large growing with an aggressive temprament.
The Jaguar cat is a peaceful fish that even has tendencies to swim mid water during daylight so could quite easily just be minding its own business when it gets set upon.

I agree. However mine does not swim midwater. I have few and they hide all of the time?

This is normal for them. IMHumO swimming around in daylight can occur but as an exception. They come out at night, of course.

When the cichlids mature and become territorial, they would most likely hunt down the catfish relentlessly. Unless it has somewhere very secure to hide when the lights are on it'd only be a matter of time.

In natural habitats, nocturnal driftwood catfish like jag cats are born enemies of cichlids, rob them of their eggs and fry under the cover of darkness. So it's just instinctual for an aggressive, territorial cichlid to eliminate such threats in such small confines of an aquarium.
