I am looking for a Jaguar Catfish- I absolutely love the skin patterns on this catfish.

I have a few questions though about it.

Pricing-
I've seen two at my LFS (Magic Isle) for about $50-60 for 5-6 inchers.
I was wondering if this was a good price or are there better prices out there.

Compatibility-
Now I have (3) 2-3" clown loaches (damn they grow slow) in the 75 gallon tank as well as 3 bristlenose plecs. I was wondering will the jaguars eat them or attack them?

Also anyone know if any good LFS's in the Long Island, Suffolk County Area?

idk if theyll eat the loaches, my 12in channel cat left my 2in slown loaches alone. but that seems like a good price, at the 1 pet store i saw em they cost 100 for a 4iner

Well i know that the pricing looks good.
But as far as those clown loaches they might just get eaten in the middle of the night.
Jad cats have a very big mouth. But are great cats.

haha im sure if u wanted the cat bad enough though you could find someone on here willing to buy ur loaches from u. then u can just get bigger ones

The price seems decent.

I dont know if they will eat your loaches or plecos, but they definitely will scrap with them. If they choose a spot they like they will fight if anyone intrudes on it. I got 2 of them and they are fine together, they scrap sometimes but its minor, they end up getting along after. They dont bother the cichlids I have, but the cichlids dont bother them either. Sometimes one of the cihclids will enter their territory and they might seem to be mildly irritated but wont really attack. They are pretty mellow but can be territorial. And they can dish out serious damage. They have power to rip fins off etc.

Oh, I might add. I had a small cichlid twice with them at about an inch and a half. They could of gotten eaten but they didnt. I think I lucked out because I kept the cats well fed, and they've never been given feeders. So maybe they arent trained to prey on small fish, but they do have the potential. So jsut because I havent had any accidents, dont take any chances.
