I am going to keep a 1" jaguar cichlid in a 55 for a few months then to a 125 gallon.
What substrate do they like?
Temp, ph all that stuff?
Food ?
How quick do they grow?
Good tank mates?

Substrate not a big deal, may move sand around more readily. I would get him on pellets, mine had no problem eating them. I would say around 0.5 to 1in a month. And IMO they do best by themselves, especially in the tank sizes you are talking about. If you absolutely must have a tank mate put them in young with other large growing cichlids and pray they don't kill each other when they reach maturity. Good Luck.

They're pretty easy to keep. You can use just about anything for substrate sand, gravel, etc. Temp can be anything from mid 70s to high 80s and pH isnt really important just keep it reasonable and stable. As for food cichlid pellets are always great; you can also use earthworms, blood worms, silver sides and krill to change it up. They grow pretty fast an inch a month sometimes more depending on water quality, amount of food and genes. Tank mates are fine for a while but don't be surprised if he tries to kill everything later. Any cichlids, that can't beat him up or the other way around, silver dollars, catfish that can't eat him and barbs would all work pretty good

my female lives alone in a 95g. she is very mean. would probably mello in a 6ft tank. she gets jumbo krill, meal worms and nightcrawlers. she is a digger. i have just regular black aquarium gravel. I have a common pleco getting to big for the 75g glo tank that i am going to try in with her soon. I am not keeping my hopes up.

8-9, something like that yes. But he will be at that size within months, he will grow very fast since it is just him in the tank (clean water, all the food for himself, no stress).

My big female loves to dig. Tanks without sand seem to stress her out, so we keep sand in her tanks. Mine eats NLS now, but did spend about 2 years eating Xtreme. Temp around 80 and they grow fast.

Totally hit or miss with tank mates in both a 300 and 210. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't lol.
