Hello everyone

I have a 140 gallon tank with one Oscar, an fire eel, one polypterus senegalus, one polypterus ornatipinnis, one polypterus delhezi and a sorubim lima. I very like jaguar cichlids (Parachromis managuensis), so could i keep one of those with the other fish?

Sorry for my bad English, im from Switzerland...

Thanks for the responses

he'll probably kill the Oscar but you might be ok if it's a female Jaguar. A male wouldn't work, Jags aren't really for novice or beginners

Thanks for your response.

Another question, what do you think about my aquarium? Is it allready overstocked or is it good like that?

I think your tank is very full, but could be maintained with a heavy water change schedule

I've had a jaguar with my Oscar but it was in a 300gal they fought all the time but my Oscar would usually beat up the jaguar (female jaguar)

Agreed that it can be maintained with good water change schedule. I wouldn't add the Jaguar.

How big of a tank? Any tank mates?

Oscars are wimps and will often sulk or pout when they're upset.

My last female jag was actually ruthless. I kept her solo for years and despite this laid eggs every 2-3 weeks her whole life.

Usually fire eels are pretty laid back- however I've also seen some very rowdy individuals that were not safe with even larger fish. Oscars and Jags really don't appreciate having food stolen out of their mouth by a fire eel. Not much they can do about it when the eel is tiny and fast. Even less they can do about it when the eel's pushing 3 feet long. I've rarely seen an eel eat on it's own they usually wait for a fish to bring it down mid level and then they take it from the fishes mouth. The eel brings the food back to it's cave or what ever and you can continue feeding the rest. Sometimes an eel will do this thing that looks like they're trying to steal food when there is none. They put their face next to that of the fish and pace them. I think this means some eye biting might be imminent. If he starts doing that you might want to find your Oscar a safer home.
