i have a jaguar breeding pair i just got the female is getting bigger and they are digging up the tank showing sighns of breeding. my question is that the tank has real drifft wood in it and i hav a white fuzz algea growing all around i want to clean the tank and wood then swap out my t5 live plant light for a diff light should i do this or leave them alone and have a dirty tank?? there are no eggs yet what should i do

well they have only been in the tank mabye 4 days and i dont want to stress them to much but if thats what you think then i will.

how long has the tank been set up? Did you clean the driftwood before you but it on the tank? When your breeding fish you want clean water

grate pic and i just cleaned the tank but the jags are doing awesome i have a feeling i will get eggs soon there fins darkened up and are being aggressive towards eachother

I had a breeding pair of Jages and I found that when I cleaned the tank and water changed they bred straight away. People say the water change is like the rain season in the wild. it stimulates them to breed. I dont know if thats true

Simulating rain is a trigger for a lot of fish. I was just watching a show where a ray breeder was using a hose to spray the pond to get them to breed, and it worked. Works for cories too
