could I house a jaguar cichlid with an achara catfish, ornate bichir, and florida gar in a 180(6'x2'x2') gallon tank? given that the three are big enough and the jag is of-size to live with them. or would the jag be super aggressive and kill these guys?
i find jags to be at either end of the spectum of personality, i have had agro jerk jags and i have had a full grown male that was a mellow dude, kinda acted like and oscar. so you will have to just try out the situation and have a tank ready in case you have to make some changes quickly
Really just depends on the temperament of the fish.... Hit or
Miss. Most oscars are chill but there are some mean ones out there. Jags are the same way. I hope whatever you do works out. I'm doing a 180 soon too and it will have a Jag and 2 RTMs
IMO oscars dont make good tank mates with central american cichlids, yea they can be agressive but they dont have the jaw power to take on a jag, but i've seen it work many times....so it can go either way

My Jag wouldn't work in there for sure. I have a 12" female in with my Festae pair and a large Argentea and she is still pretty much a total ass. Very aggro and the only reason I think it works is both the Argentea and Festae males are bigger than her but she still flares and acts like its her tank. Once my female Festae catches her size wise, I'll probably be rehoming the jag.
Depends on the individual fish really but it could go south at any point
