I currently own 2 Jaguar Cichlids, I owned my female for about 4 months, She has begun laying eggs she has laid about 3 batches, she is about 4-5'' in lengh, My male is reletavely new to me but he is a old fish, he is quite large, 8-9'' Lengh and about 2 inch thick, Very beautiful fish both of them. The male was a pair before i got him but he had killed his 'Partner' i guess she had blagged his head too much, you know how females are these days all males can relate ;)

I have placed my tanks side by side show both fish can see each other my female was scared at first but now when the big male comes towards her side she stays there with all fins extended to make her self look bigger.

Is there any possiblilty that they could become a breeding pair, i will not be putting her into his tank yet as i fear for her safety but still, is there any possibility that these could form a breeding pair, both vastly beautiful fish

Yes, it could be a possibility.

However if you do try it, be very careful. Male Jags are very aggressive towards the females when they want to breed, and with that size difference it could lead to a bad outcome.

Take extreme precaution, and you should be fine.

Good luck!
