So I was at the LFS today and saw this little guy trying Go after the flowerhorn next to its tank..so I pick him up..anyone know if its a male/female..tia

I’m not sure I’m thinking male but I’m pretty sure it’s a female and I’m leaning more towards female I’m not too good at sexing jag cichlids but I’m pretty sure this is female

I am no expert with jags, but based on the dark vertical bars I see, I think this is a male. I would get a background to attach to the tank to help your jag feel more secure. As well as some gravel and possibly a small cave to swim in to.
