I currently have 2 jaguar cichlids...one is about 3" the other is about 1.5 I have them both in a 20 gallon and will soon be moving them to a 65.

Is this to small of a tank? Should I give one away before they get too big?

Any help would be great!

Thanks.

Ryan

If you have a female she should be ok for a while in a 65, but any way you look at it, even a single speciment will eventually need a larger tank. A 65 is a wonderful start and will last quite a while though.

Will eventually be overstocked. As long as you have a means to provide for them after that, go for it. If you don't consider a trade.

a 65 will be okay for a juvie..for a while..they dont grow super fast

and upgrade will be needed though..at least a 80-90 gal..100 is better though

a female jag could stay in a 65 for a wile, though 75 would be better, males need 125's, pairs should have 125-180 at least

ummm what are the dimensions of the 65??? if its like the one I have its only 3 feet long.... there is no way even alone female can stay in there. A fish that is over a foot long does not belong in a 3 foot tank. No room to move around
