Jaguar cichlid v.s peacock bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It depends on how the jag was raised. If it had been put in a tank by its self and fed feeders as long as the peacock can't swallow it the jag will beat the peacock up. I had one I swear was the devil it would chase you when you walked next to the tank and spalsh you when you fed it and definetely cleaning the tank. I have seen a significant difference in temp. I had peacocks also non currently but more community fish for sure. Jag isn't a fish that does well in community tank unless everything is bigger.

I am not the most knowledgeable about peacock bass, but my guess is that pound for pound the jaguar is more vicious and robust, while peacocks attain a much larger maximum size

Would not even be a fight jag would win hands down. Pbass have weak jaws.

Weak jaws? The way they pound food, and pound lures when you fish for them they have anything but weak jaws, but they lack the aggression that a jag has.

ur jag is like 2 inches and my bass is like 4 inches and if you dont remember your jag would be blind if i didnt help you

They are they only fish that i ever kept that ever broke their jaw on a feeder fish, no idea how he managed to do it . The bite is way different too when i had my pbass they bit me all the time never hurt. Let a large jag bite you it aint fun. Trust me far as cichlids pbass dont have the bite power or most other species. Hitting food or lures hard is less about jaw strength more about overall strength and feeding aggression.

They are both strong fish i currently have a 12" male jag and he moves about a 10lb piece of driftwood around his tank. I have even kept a previous jag with pbass larger than him there was 5 pbass and him he ran the tank. Pbass are more aggressive feeders jags are just aggressive in general.
