I have a jaguar about 5'' and I will be getting a Senegal bichir from a friend, would it be okay tank mate with my jaguar ?

What size tank? And how big is the Senegal? I've heard about jaguar cichlids being pretty aggressive. I thinks it's something that if you grow the cichlid out with the bichir it's something that could possibly be avoided, but I would carefully watch just in case it doesn't and it starts becoming aggressive towards the bichir.

not something I would do, my jags have there own tank for a reason.

I have had females in the 9" range and fine with the Oscars in the 180. males another mater. they beat up everything including there mates. this why I have to run a divider except for spawning time.

I disagree. my pair in a 140, and starting to think that is to small, size of fish with have no bearing, large bull male not like you? large bull male will take you out unless you a umbie or a dovii.

i have had a jag bully a Senegal to death, not kill it through biting but harass it, chase it one day it went head first into a rock and never survived.

yup, once they have decided its a done deal, jag pair could work just fine with other fish in a 300 to 500g tank, not in anything smaller. IMHO
