Here are some pics of my jag that I adopted. I got him with this white stuff on him but he was eating fine. He cam out of a 150 gal tank with another male jag and JD. He was getting picked on by the JD. Now I have him in his own 55 gal tank with a fluval 405 and air stone hooked up. He is also now not eating. I have had him for 4 days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am looking foward to putting this guy in a 150 after he gets healthy.

Water parameters
PH- 7.8
Temperature- 78
Amonia-0
Nitrate-0

If you need any more info please ask. I can try and get better pitures if these do not work.

white spots are probably ich. you could either try adding aquarium salt and bumping up the temp. or use quick cure, I personally have found quick cure to work much faster. just follow the directions on the bottle. good luck

Thanks for the response. I have some quick cure I can go ahead and use that. I already added aquarium salt and I will bump up the temp to 80.

I will definatly post to let you guys know. Also I forgot to see some of the white stuff attached to him looks stringy. Would this also be ich?

Well update on my jaguar. The white stuff on him does not seem to be clearing up after 2 treatments and 2 water changes. But he is eating now. The scales almost look as if he is shedding. Could it be some sort of fungus?

If you have carbon in your fluval-405, don't forget to take it out or it'll adsorb the medicine.

he looks like hell be a nice cichlid once he clears up, just take care of him
