At the moment I have got one Oscar in a 150 gallon tank and have just reserved it for the end of the month.I was wondering if it was a good idea the people in the shop said it was very peaceful as most are aggressive and it was with an Arowana. I am not asking because of tank size i was asking to see if the fish would be OK.

Thanks !!!!!

p.s. I am in the UK and it was originally 22.50 pound($35.80) and i made it 15 pounds($23.80) which is a bargain as the jaguar is about 4-5 inches

the jag will probably pick 0n your oscar as the only fish in the tank, i might try to add the jag and some silver dollars and maybe a gt

Depends on the individual fish, I have Oscars and a Jag and they are ok providing the Oscars don't venture too deep into Jag territory!

Provide the Jag with some wood or rocks so that he can have a cave to stay in and they should be ok.
The Jag should just defend his "home" and not mess with the Oscar to much, in theory that is what should happen but the jag might turn out to be a killer when he gets bigger.
Every fish is different i have 2 in my 150 with other fish and they just mind there own business the Male Jag will lock lips with the GT every now and then but nothing serious.

I have a 5 inch Jag in with albino O about 6 inch and tiger O about 8 inch and a Pacu about 6 inch all in a 120 gal tank and all get along very well unless the O's try to go into the Lava rock and Drift wood cave in the middle of the tank I have seen the Jag Beat the Albino O out of his cave a few times. So yes they will live together fine as long as the Jag has a small area to claim as his own.
