I noticed Monday that my male jaguar has a deformed looking tail (I can't get a clear picture). It's a knot on one side while the other side is flat almost like he's been in a tank that was too narrow and his tail was curled all the time. He's been in a 75 from 2" -13/14" (about to be transferred to a 150). He's quirky as they come and hides behind a small piece of driftwood 90% of the time. I wonder if the current (850gph total without media for reference) mixed with his hiding is doing this as he probably has to keep his tail curled to stay in the same spot. I have never ran into this problem before with any parachromis species.
Parameters are perfect/ minimum décor/sand for extra swimming room/ food is white filets stuffed with pellets.
I do have a 500gph canister (no media) with a 350 gph canister (no media). So I wonder if the current is too much even with the gph drop from media? Any idea's or suggestions?
