Hey guys can anyone tell me what to do? have 4-5 inch jaguar cichlid in a 55 gallon tank and Im pretty phyched but concerned and i have ?s. SHE LAID EGGS this morning in the corner of the tank and theres alot haha but what im wonder is can she self fertilze them because all i have in the tank other than her is a pleco. how long will they last if she cant? also im geting a dovii cichlid in the mail friday but hes 1.5-2 inches, can he fertilize her eggs? hopfully hes not doa or another female. thanks for any input.

Pleco will have fun, nice meal for him/her. No, she can self fertilize.

The eggs will only be fertilized if a male is in the tank, at the time she puts them down. The male would need to be mature enough to have viable milt.
