I got him from a local fish shop. really great source for aquatics. picked him up a little over a week ago. still has not touched any food I put in. anyone have some ideas to get him to eat. he is active and looks very healthy so I'm not to worried.... yet.. maybe some types of food other have had success with.?

Earthworms always work. But its best to wait a couple days first to see if he will eat pellets.

Ask the shop where you purchased it what they were feeding. If it won't eat what they fed, then it's just getting used to it's surroundings, and may take up to a week for it to start eating.

Make the little guy as comfy as possible. Plenty of hides, and dim lighting. They are wimps untill about the 6" mark. With an empty room with the lights off, i would bet anything he will grab up some pellets after it thinks your out of sight

I would be a bit concerned over a 3 inch jag not eating for over a week. What are the water parameters, has he got cover in the tank, are there any tankmates.
