i hav a 5 inch jag that when he was about 4 inches his sudo canines or watever came in and he looked nasty but i feel like they dissapeared. maybe his lips grew more and they became hidden? idrk. and how deadly is a jags bite cuz about 10 mins ago my jag got a little aggravated with my mayan cichlid and snapped his jaw down on the mayans mouth when it was closed and scales flew everywere and my mayan began to basically look like he was dry heeving. wats goin on lol!?

It's not that there hidden he could have knocked them out at some point. I would consider a jags bite deadly to another cichlid but they do have the equipment to a good deal of harm to other cichlid should they want to. The Mayan is heaving cause it's stressed

Your jag just knocked his teeth out, don't worry they will come and go. As for your mayan jag problem, depending on the sex of the fish, size of your tank etc... you are most likely asking for problems unless you have a180 gallon plus tank, even then it will depend on the fish's personality. You may want to get a few dithers in there to disperse your jags aggression.

I hav a parrot fish, firemouth, mayan, 2 green terrors, female convict, male jag, male Dempsey all in a 125 , they are all around 5 inches each beside the parrot and con wich r smaller and so far ive had almost NO issue with aggression. they are in eachothers face all day long yet they all coexist. its pretty cool and im happy with how its going so far
