So what can I feed my jaguar besides pellets? It seems like he doesn't like the pellets and would want more live food. Besides goldfish, whatelse can I feed him? Frogs? Mice? Etc.?

no frogs, no mice, no gold fish, quality pellet needs to be main diet. if looking for live food, guppies. super meal worms, night crawlers, I feed mine once a week super freeze dried krill soaked over night in boyds Vita-Chem,.

the problem with live feeder fish is always a chance of adding a pathogen or parasite to the tank, and gold fish not good for tropic fish, to fatty. and little nutritional value.

Well my issue is this guy will NOT eat the pellets. I need to starve him or something

He will you just have to be patient and wait him out. All my jags have been picky but they all eventually pellet trained. I use Canadian night crawlers as a treat ever so often.

I feed mine new life spectrum jumbo fish formula but hes 10" or so. You might want to go 2mm if hes smaller

I have seen awful videos of people feeding mice to fish. There really is no need.
It's more for the morbid curiosity of the keeper rather than the health of their fish.
Yea I've seen the videos of Jaguars getting fed mice lol I didn't want to do it unless it would be okay. Lol hence why I asked.

Fair enough.
I don't think stomach analysis of wild cichlids will reveal many mice.
