Any thoughts on whether my jaguar cichlid is a male or female? Probably around 4”-5” currently. Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking male due to lower half having lots of dark spots. Don't rely on whether the unpaired dorsal and anal fin are pointed. My male jag never had pointed unpaired fins even when over 10".
I was kind of thinking the same thing, judging from what I have read. This is my first Jaguar though, so was hoping to get some opinions from people who have had experience with them. Appreciate the reply.

not trying to be a jerk but why do you keep hijacking other peoples jag posts asking if thats a male or female? Hijacking multiple posts will not change the responses you already have over its gender. You should just make your own post that way you can update with new pics as it grows for a better id.
