After over 2 years of ray keeping and in a constant hunt for one of the nicest pairs of jaguar rays, I have finally come to rest. Castexi or I should say the jaguar varient of castexi's are my favorite rays. I got my male just over a year ago but could not find a quality female. A certain member on here bought the female of my dreams 2 years ago and ever since I have bugged him at least once a month until he finally caved. Well here are the pics of the new pair. Thanks again Alan! They are currently in a 240 gallon pond measuring 8 feet long 2 feet wide and deep. They will be in this for a little while and one day be up graded into something larger. She measures 14 inches and he measures 11 inches. You can see in one pic a hint of his claspers, they are about 1 inch right now so maybe this fall they will roll out. He was kept in a darker tank so I am hoping his spots will lighten up. The tiles are 18" for reference. Enjoy.

Good luck with them.Jags claspers take a while to mature.
My last big male was 23" when they finally matured.
Hope too see young ones someday from them.

Glad to see she went to a good home. Congrats on the new female and hopefully in the not so distant future there will be a few little ones swimming around.

NICE.......

Glad she made it. Thanks to Shawn. Coulda never got her there without him.

Can't wait to see what the future holds for them!!!

Thanks again for helping in the shipping department. I am keeping my fingers crossed on him maturing early. A lfs about an hour away has a 14 inch male estrella star that has rolled claspers about 2 1/2 inch long. Only time will tell.

Congrats Mike, they both look great..

Congrats Mike....QUALITY jag pair. Tiles look great too.

Beautiful pair of Otorongo,if you have the space these rays take some beating,i had a pair some years ago, loved them,so powerful with a great feeding response.

All the best with them.

Allways glad to help.Well hopefully he rolls early. When i got mine in he was 18" and i thought he was a she, because his claspers were barely there.
