i went to my lfs yesturday and he had a pair of jags in a tank that he said breeded about 8days ago, they were 3 1/2" and 4" long. is it still possible for them to breed in a tank with another tank mate in there? theres a small peacock bass in there with them. about 5"

that seems rather small for jags to breed but I guess it is anything is possible... Jags will breed as long as they have a spot to lay they would protect their eggs well enough against a peacock of that size

tank-mates aren't a deterrent to breeding . . . I have certainly seen convicts breed despite other members in the tank

about two months ago I visited a new LFS, and in their JD tank there was a weird site: about 8 JDs were all piled-up into one corner of a 20G tank, while a pair of JDs - - which had just laid eggs in the middle of the tank - - were terrorizing them while protecting their clutch.

so yeah, it's definitely possible that they bred despite the p-bass in there

or in lfs a barebottom

you think the bottom part of a flower pot works fine? or is it material is bad or a floor tile i can get all of these pretty easily cause i work at home depot
