I have about a 6.5 inch flower horn/bloodparrot mix which took the looks of the flower horn in my tank (very strange combo but still cool looking). I know that he is much bigger then my 2 jags that i just purchased. I got them so small becase i really liked jags but had problems finding them at around 4 or 5 inches. They are about 3 inch and 2 inch. they are constantly hiding from the big guy, and my question is will it stunt their growth since they are constantly hiding? Will they feel to threatened to do anything? Should i think about getting a tank divider for a little while? Please give some good input.

Yes It would stunt their growth as food will become less available for them and the stress of watching out for the big guys will greatly affect their growth rates...Best thing is to get another tank for them OR you can divided the tank.

you could get a divider until they grow a bit jags don't take that long to grow, as for the stunted grow the fh won't affect the jags growth unless the fh is consuming all the food you throw in the tank what size tank do you have I'm worried that your fh could kill the jags i would definitely separate

I have a 90 gallon tank. the bully doesnt really eat everything that i throw in there, i mean i throw in a blood worm cube and it will sit there and sink before anything will even go after it. the jags seem to be eating fine and they do come out when the bully is on the other end of the tank but when he is around they just hit up the hiding spots.

i would separate fh kills just about anything even plecos bro but if you want to take a chance ...

Well, if you have recently bought them (1 month or so) then they are still getting used to their surroundings and will hide.

yes i<3fish i just got them about a week ago so do you think thats all it is so far? you think i should still divide them for a while?
