Can someone please help me identify the sex of my jaguar? I bought it as femal but I am unsure.

Looks like a male to me.
but. as suggested. cichlids can be very plastic with regard to presenting characteristics
...when a female is the only adult or semi adult fish in a tank, she may develop alfa characteristics that alter her appearance.
Above is a normal female haitiensus (close cousin to your managuensus) when accompanied by a male in the tank.
But when the male is removed, her appearance changes almost over night to adapting male or alfa characteristics, below
