So I brought home a very chunky Jaguar the other week and she is beautiful amazing colors and chunky size. Well she was chunky because she was pregnant. She layed eggs all over a rock in her 30g quarantine tank shes around 6 inches. I waited a day or so to make sure she was done laying and then pulled the rock out with help of a 10" net to hold her back and cleaned the eggs off did a water change and returned it to its original spot in the tank. Well As the title suggests shes ready to die. she has been moping around since the eggs were removed (2 days ago) if I turn around fast enough sometimes I swear I see her loading her gun to put herself down. Again the tank is a 30G quarantine with a mag 350 canister and some other off brand filter. Water is crystal clear 0 0 and less then 5ppm nitrate. whats up with my girly. How can I get her out of this slump? Is it natural? should I continue to put Prozac in the tank and Tell her Life is worth it. Help me out here MKF Thanks

I think it's normal.. I had a convict that went absolutely mental when her eggs disappeared.. (They had no hope of getting fertilized that time, or any of the other 6 times she'd laid them, but I usually left them in there - once I removed them).

Fish are funny little creatures. Give her some peas or blood worms - she'll perk up. :)

Just keep her water clean and give her a few days. She will probably perk back up

Sorry to hear that... Hope she gets better, she's beautiful!
