Hi I am setting up a 6 foot tank and I REALY love this fish and I am aware that it is a 50/50 shot- hes nice or hes a fish killing monster
so are there anyways of making him a little less agressive
I plan on keeping him with
1 oscar
1 severum
1 dempsey
3 jurupari
1 delihizi
1 ornate
2 ropefish

the tank is 140g

the tank is 140g
get them all small and grow them together. that should make for less aggression.

should be fine. ive kept bichirs with and stingray with all my grown cichlids. i think the cichlids think there just long terds on the bottom of the tank:nilly:
 
There is no way to make a cichlid less aggressive. They are what they are.
Your stock looks like it will work. Buy everything a bit smaller than the jag, as fishguts said, growing them up together will only increase your chances of success. Of all things in the tank, I'd worry most about the jurupari. They are not strong enough to fend off an angry managuense.
