I have 2 Jaguar Cichlids (male & female), that are both about 6-7" long. They were put in a 180 gallon together about 2-3 weeks ago, and were doing fine and showing breeding behavior. Both were aggressive towards people and had no fear. All of a sudden last week they have become overly skittish and sulk in the corners whenever the lights are on, I had 2 T5's 10,000k, so I changed out one to blue light, did not work. So I went out and bought a Current LED light fixture, where I can adjust each colour and brightness a million different ways. Still no luck, they only come out and act normal and eat like pigs the second I turn off the aquarium lights, even though the room they are in is brightly lit.

Can someone shed some light on what may be the issue, as I don't understand why it happened so suddenly (I do know is most cases Jag's like lower light levels, but these guys don't want any light overhead). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

toss in some frogbit or other floating plants. artificial floaters would work as well. they may be concerned now because they are preparing to mate and they want more cover.
if your more concerned with mating them then seeing them, just leave the lights off, the fish don't need them.
