wow and im watching 2012 right now.
 
It's worth noting that this was an off-shore aftershock 25 miles under water, and it was one of many aftershocks in the area, just one of the largest at 7.4. Since the quake they've been dealing with these.

I believe the tsunami warning has already been cancelled.
 
That area of the world gets a lot of earthquakes regularly. Maybe not as big as this, but now the world is paying attention everyone is going nuts..

well yeah, there's still 27,000 people officially pronounced dead or missing. that's like a lil over 1/4th of mfk disappearing overnight
 
Yes, I know. That is a tragedy, and it was a big earthquake that was of unusual size. But there are plenty of earthquakes that happen in the pacific that the locals are used to, 4.5 mags etc. I do realise though that this was a big earthquake.
