i'm thinking about putting a jar in my 180 gal. com. tank, if things go bad, would i get some warning to move the jar or would it kill everything overnight?

Answer; who knows? Its always going to be a risk. By "warning" do you mean you'll only find your fish beaten half to death instead of dead?

Your in canada , get an asian instead , jars can be evil! , maybe try a Lei if you can get them over there?

I tried this 2 years ago. I had 8-3" in jars in a 100 gallon...It worked!!!!!!!!!








for the first 2 hours, then they slowly began to tear each other up. theres a 90 percent chance that it won't work. They hate their own kind for some reason. I tried dithers and other fish to keep them "distracted" but it just doesn't work!!!!

But you could try a large pond or a very wide tank. Maybe a 96"x48" footprint. You might be able to breed them...

i know mixing jars is risky, i just want to know if the agression slowly builds or if it will happen overnight.

Well...it'll take a week or two for them to adjust to a new tank and then they'll start picking at each other. So not overnight, but not long either.
