72 bowfront (wider) VS. 100 gallon (narrow, ~18inches)

i haven't bought the 100 gallon yet. i was looking to get a better grow out for my jar. would a narrower 100 even be an upgrade for the baby jar?

thank you,
vil.

why bother with growouts? why not go straight to a 6x2x2? thats 180 gals

haven't found a deal on a tank that big yet. that's how a growout works for me. save a little dough on the way to a bigger tank. buy the bigger ones as they come along. but you are right, i should consider fronting the dough for a 210 or something.

on a side note, i went through the same experience with my turtle. 2g to 10g to 29g to 125g.

Isn't the 72 bowfront only wider at the very middle? What's the width at the ends of the tank? I'm thinking if I had to choose between the two I would go with the 100 if it is 18" all the way through because it will be easier for the fish to turn.

i say go w/ the 72. would make a nice smaller show tank when the jar outgrows it. that is, unless you are wanting to grow it out to like 18 inches, then go for the 100.

i want the tank that will buy me the most time. i'll probably keep both tanks up and running anyways.

thanks for the continued insight. anybody wanna sell me a 200+ for $150? :nilly:
