Would a jar get along in a cichlid tank I hear they are kinda nasty. I wanna do a 180 with three or four cichlids in it but would love to have an arrow.

You just don't know. It depends on the attitude of the jar. I would think that the jar would eventually kill the cichlids but I have one that lives with exotic catfish, mostly plecos. He put one in his mouth before and spit it out because of the spines. Just chases then now. He is 2 years old.

I have seen people keep a Jardini with Frontosas just because Frontosas can get quite large to keep up with the size of the Jar. Personally, I kept my 8 inch jar with bloor parrots, a tiger dat. which the jar eventually killed, a royal pleco and a bichir.

your best chances of keeping cichlids or any other fish with a jar will have to have a wide body and grows just as fast and quick as a jardini....and this still doesn't guarantee you anything...things could go wrong for your cichlids or jardini....

You won't know till you test it.As you can see, we can't answer you specifically, but you can try and test it and you will know the answer, but it really depends on the attitude of the jar as well.I'd rather buy a silver or a RTG instead of wasting money just incase the jar kills the cichlids.

most jars are loner and very very territorial.. but if you are born one of the luckiest persons in the world, your jar might just be social and friendly.. lol

my jar lived with a red blood pariot just fine but when i threw in some catfish/shark like ones he acted crazy within 15mins so i got those guys out and i believe next week i'm going to try it with the cichild

so uh in my other tank a cichild is very aggresive, it keeps chasing and biting another cichild and i believe he is the reason my other cichild died last week. so i decided to move him into the jar tank. the jar seems fine with the cichild they about the same size and when the cichild tries to scare the jar, the jar just ignores him so i think they'll do fine...

actually i saw the jar kind of starring the cichild down and cornered him gave him some food maybe if hes full he wont be so aggresive but yeah didnt work so i had the move the cichild back to the other tank, hopefully the cichild is nicer now to the other fishes.
