Jar wont eat

hello, my jar has not eaten for a week now. was starving him to get him onto pellets but now he isnt interested in eating anything. Normally when i approach the tank he gets excited because he thinks he is getting fed but now he just swims around very slowly. Had a nitrite spike on monday did water change n now is ok. Amonia was up a bit but have a new filter since last friday so that is ok now as well.
any ideas

add aquarium salt n increase temperature?to around 30 degrees celcius

Just keep the water parameter in check. Meanwhile let it get use to the pellet feeding. It will accept in due time.

His mouth is slightly open all the time now and the little skin thing on its nostrels are flared up. barbels and knob on the end of his bottom lip was very swollen yesterday. better today but still swollen

just be patient my bro.. how big is your jar anyway? my 6 inch jar took 2 weeks for it to accept pellets.. it would swallow a whole pellet but spit about 3/4 of it.. then he would go to the next pellet.. got annoyed at first actually because i have to clean the filter everyday.. the next week, 1/2 he would spit out.. the next, only a quarter of the pellet he would spit.. after a month of cleaning everyday, guess what happened? it still spits pellets but only the outer part.. i figured he doesn't like the thin outer layer.. maybe it was tasteless.. never tried that by the way.. lol.. but now, im happy that he eats pellets.. goodluck on yours!
