i am really thinking bout getting a jar. would you rather have a jar, solo or silver with others. either would be housed in a 60"X25"X30" for pretty much it's whole life, until i could get a much bigger tank. and that would realistically be no sooner than a year, don't wanna upset the boss(wife).

Single jar or silver would be fine in your set-up for a year (provided you get a juvenile of course) - i would go even two or three years (unless you power feed it).

Please take a minute to go through Steve's Sticky in the Arowana Subforum, about Jar compatibility.:)

Well he could get lucky and get a jar like green terra's (living in a com tank with a mana and other big cichlids). From his YT vids there's no aggression at all with his jar. That man's set up still amazes me.....

Very true, but i got lucky my Jar lives with 2 Pacu's,a huge Bala Shark,a Synodontis Frontosus and a RTC/TSN.All the fish are roughly the same size and when the Jar acts up they all seem to put him back in his place:naughty:

I love the Jar
If i was in another country, i would go hardcore on Asian aros. here in nz, Asian aro starting price is 1700NZD (800 Euros). Thats for grade 2, then grade ones are minimum 1500 euros.

I love jars though, they are aggressive, and get really fat also. I have a 15 inch, very rewarding but it cost me so many fish that it killed.
It can generally live with fast swimming fish. If it cant catch it, it will live. Anything that ti can catch, will end up dead.
