I have a 6 inch jardini in with my 10 inch florida gar. The gar occasionally goes up to the surface to breath, and the aro sometimes comes over to nip at hi9m. His tail is a little frayed, but i think it will be alright in the end since the gar eats, and swims just fine showing no signs of stress. also i read a book saying that most fish in the wild have frayed fins any way. Any help, tips, comments ect will b appreciated thanks.

My florida has messed up fins too but both tropical gars are perfect. Mine seems fine in all possible ways too. I wouldn't worry about it, it should regrow. In my situation I think my synodontis angelicus comes out at night when he is sitting on the bottom and grabs it!? I've seen him do it before so figure he is the guy. You may have someone in your tank like this too!

the jardini will kill the gar at some point thats what jars do
