Hi everyone,
I read the "tankmates with Jardini" thread, however I have some further questions. Now, my Jar is about 8-10 inches, somewhere around there. He is in a 90 at the moment. He has been peacefully with a 3 inch oscar, two 2 inch convicts and 5 small tiger barbs. The convicts and oscar were supposed to be cycling fish, but they have stayed. I have not seen the Jar attack anything, and no fish looks bitten or attacked. He schools with the oscar sometimes, they touch fins and cruise together.
I have an eheim 2217 and a emporer 400 cycling the tank, which I think provides ample filtration.
I have the cichla bug, and have the opportunity to pick up some 4-5 inchers at a great price. I was planning on upgrading anyways, so space would not be an issue, and I figure I have time before I need to get a huge tank. Based off the information above, you think my jar will live with a p bass?
I am getting them at a very nice price, so if it were to die I wouldnt be at a huge loss, but is this mindset ethical?
edit:also I am going to give away the convicts, so it would be Jar, Oscar, P Bass and the tiger barbs.

You can't trust on Jar to be a good-guy for his lifetime. He may get along with his tank-mates he grew-up with. But may attack new entrant anytime.

But you can give it a try, if you're lucky you may hit the jackpot.
