In my AE86
posting this up for my friend. He just bought a silver aro which is about 6in and added him in his tank with a jardini in it which is 5in. Later on that day the jar started beating up the silver. So my friend seperated the silver in a small tank. So the question is, is there anyone out there thats had success in raising both in one tank? what can my friend do to have the both of them get along? or are they just going to fight untill one dies.

i have done it chances are its not going to work out though bro you have to get a docile jar and even then its risky

I am the friend ... and I have them split up right now so I'm going to try to grow the silver up some more and then put him back in. My jardini is getting more aggresive with everone in the tank. He is even starting to get territorial with the oscar who is bigger than him.

2 aros is always very iffy.

With a Jar in the mix, even worse,

When the Jar is the one that is established in the tank, EVEN WORSE.

I had my Jar and Silver together since they were about 3-4 inches. After 3 years all is good.

thats so funny how so many people say that these fish cant be kept together and then randomly someone lucks out and finds a pair that work together, really shows the personality differences in these fish!

I have a 9" jar with my 23" silver and 3, 15"+ florida gars, and the gars are more interested in my jar then the silver. My jar and silver actually swim together side by side.
