Im sure they have but given the different temperaments, probably not the best fit. Now if you have a 100 individuals to choose from you may find some compatibility but as a general rule, no; not the best tank mates.IMO
They have with extremely large set ups and more than just two specimens, generally one jar and the rest silvers. I've seen videos but again the set ups were large and even then you could see the fish have fought.
