I was looking into getting a jardini and was wondering what care they need. What size tank do they need? What do you mainly feed them? How fast will they grow?

as far as tank size goes id go with a 180 gallon for the width and id check out the sticky under the arowana section

how many fish in total
if its just the jar, then 180 MAY be enough.
wide is key with aros. Not how high the tank is.

i would say dept is at least 70 cm or 80 cm is better.
70 is fine, to get your jar into 60cm, it takes years and would give you plenty of time to upgrade. 60 cm is large. 70cm to 80cm.

work otu the rest.
care... simple, pretty much same care as the other aros:d
temp should be 27 to 29.
food, variety.

I agree with all of this. Jardinis are very aggressive as well. They are the more aggressive than silvers or blacks IMO. Given a large tank though they can live with other similar sized fish. I have one near 2 foot and I feed her market shrimp, silversides, hotdogs, and bloodworms. And he means 27 to 29 celsius. ;)

Are they compatible with gar?
In a 180, would a 6x2x2 or a 5x2.5x2 be better?

Its a toss up with the two. They might get along, they might not, just depends on the fish themselves. I would do the 6x2x2. The arowana is going to swim constantly back and forth at the top and the gar will kind of stay in one place near the top.
