Hi All,

I have Jardini Arowana and it has a swollen eye that at times looks like it has a little red at the bottom. It's like 10" long and use to eat very well. Now it has a hard time eating and only will get a massivore pellet if I drop it right in front of it and it touches the front of it's mouth. it's currently in a 180 gallon talk with a few tankmates. It's running an Eheim pro III and has a UV sterilizer. Any advice would be very helpful. It's been gradually getting little bigger, but I thought it may have just been a little fat growing it, but not sure now that it's having a hard time seeing. Any help would be great! Thanks.

That's usually from bacterial infection if I remember correctly. Most common cause though is poor water quality recommend huge water change. Get some good water conditioner like prime. Could do Epsom salt bath to help reduce the fluid behind the or treat with antibiotics or antibacterial meds. Good luck but I would check ur water parameters first

I agree the most likely cause is poor water quality , big WC will help ( what's your usual WC schedule ? ) is there any bogwood/branches etc he could have snagged it on ?
Add aquarium salt dosed appropriately , and melafix with plenty of oxygen , hopefully it'll heal u soon enough , good luck keep us posted :)
