i just purchased a baby jardini arowana and was looking into how big of a tank i will be needing in the future since i know they grow fast. i had to sell my silver arowana when it got around 2 feet long. i hear jardini's dont get as big but wasnt sure what size tank i will need in a year or 2.

6x2x2 is the commonly accepted minimum. The larger problem with Jars is that they are very aggressive towards tankmates.

Realistically, as it's probably gonna be a single fish, most people would by a 6x2 500.00 standard tank as opposed to a 1800.00 6x3 tank.

I think that 135g will be good for your arrow.

I think you're a fool who has never kept an arowana. :screwy:

A standard 180g will do for a long time, but as the fish gets close to 24" you'll be wishing it was a bit wider. If you spend the extra cash and get the 6" extra width of a 220g (6' long, 30" wide, 24" high) I think you'll be set for life, IMO.

An arrow? an arrow is something you shoot with a bow:screwy:

A 135g? Most I've seen have a footprint of 72" x 18", while the length would be fine for up to a 24" aro, the 18" width is way to narrow for a 24" arowana, especially the less flexible jardini

In all retrospect if you don't have an arrow in a 500 gallon tank he won't live his full life span anyway.

Oh please, provide some info that would give your statement some merit?

can two Jardinis live without fighting in a 560 gallon tank? just couriouse before a buy a pair.

I think you should, first start your own thread and second actually have the 560g tank. You will still need to be able to separate the two if needed. Chances are they will not get along.
