I recently did a big cleaning and rearranging of my show 260 g tank. Unfortunately my wife does not like my "bully" monster Jardini any longer. She asked if I took out all the other fish and my response was no they are in the caves. She says he keeps all of them inside as too look like he is only fish in tank. I have 7 plecos; 2-phantom, 2-046-zebra, 2-flashers, 1-018-gold nugget, and 4 rokeil serums. She wants me to either put my Jardini back into the 180g in the basement(dungeon), or get rid of him. I really do not want to downgrade his living space as this is why I rearranged my tank to begin with, got rid of several(5) branches in the tank. Any reasonable offer as to purchase or ideas for my tank would be appreciated.Newly arranged 2:5.jpgPiture 2:5:12.jpgJar and rotkeil.jpgRotkeils and eggs.jpgL-018 gold nugget.jpg

If your Jardini isn't peaceful now, it will only get worse as it ages. It would be best keeping him in a tank of his own. If you do want tank makes with him, try bottom dwellers such as large Polypterus. They seem to be the only thing that work with aggressive Jardini's, but it's not a guaranteed success. GL with your decision.

Thank you for the advise, the other thing I forgot to mention, I had an 18" walago catfish with him and he almost killed it, found it attached to the intake of my fx5 and looked like a stripped catfish, every time it came out of it's cave to eat he took a hit and the teeth left a long scratch on it. I had to take it out of his tank where it recovered and ate one of my adult rotkeils and that sealed his doom to a lfs. I thought fish that could dart into the caves would be better, seemed to for awhile until I rearranged the wood into 2 piles. He just patrols them like a shark.

No problem. Those fish are going to be in a constant mode of fear. Which isn't healthy if they're still growing. Jar needs to be moved if you want the other fish to flourish, otherwise they will always be hiding.

Try clown loaches! They always seeem to be ok with arowanas for some reason~
But yeah, jard is most prolly going to get worse.

I sadly sold my beautiful jardini w/ the same problem. Now im giving a leichardti arowana a try hoping it wont be aggressive

why not keep the jar in thr 260 and move the other fish to the 180?

Oh wow, I was thinking to buy a little Jar I saw at a lfs... Seeing how aggressive they are is making me have some double thoughts! Are they ALL aggressive?
