Over the past two weeks or so I noticed that my oscar seems to be getting overly aggressive with my jardini. The jardini has some battle wounds. He still eats a ton though. Both fish are about 8" I've heard that once jardinis get around a foot in length, they become very aggressive as well. Should I worry? They are in a 75g for now.

oscars are MEAN. i had like a 5incher and he would race to the top and nail my 12in silver. watch for any serious wounds and if the oscar keeps it up move him. i would anyways. or get rid of that oscar if u dont have the tankspace.

bear in mind aro's don't fill out till ther quite large your looking at 12" for a jar or asian an about 18" for a silver then your aros will be able to look after itself. i had a 4" jar that got kill by a 3" oscar oscars can be little ****ers

yah oscars are the mad dogs of our aquarium :headbang2 separate your jardini and oscar dude

It depends on the personality of each fish. I have a 9 - 10' oscar with the same size jardini and no problems...

oscar are mean dude. aros have their own personality. mine is a pussy. :D

so better keep an eye on ya oscar. or get another small tankmate for him to bully.

Thanks all, I'll tell ya though, the jar is something to watch at feeding time. The only time he shows any kind of fight toward the oscar. He sucks down krill like nothing. I will keep a close eye out though. Thanks again.

separate them immediately.
