So I have a 12'' jardini that I am rescuing from a friend... and my mom finds them hideous. Unfortunately, she loves parrot fish (which i find pretty ugly).. So i think we are going to settle with having both.

How many parrot fish would be appropriate? I was thinking 2-3? would 4 be too much?

I have a 125 gallon 6' tank with two FX5's and a good air pump.

I think that would depend on how many parrots you want your jardini to have for lunch...

the jardini is going to kill all the parrots. Jardinis are one of those fish where keeping it with smaller and weaker tankmates equal disaster.

I did try this with my jardini and was quite successful fr a few months, the trick with mine was not to kill the lights, my jar attacks his tankmates only when the lights go out. So i always switch on a seperate tank light during nightime, i was surprised he didnt attack any of his tankmates. It was a surprisingly peaceful comm. but of course each jar is different. So we have to discover their individual habits and likes. My jar lived with 2 bichirs, 6 tigerbarbs ( small ones that he cant catch) a rainbow shark and 2 parrots. I had some driftwood that provided some hiding places too, the parrots would even attempt to nip the jars fins once in a while so in the end i git rid of the parrots.

Also tried large angel fishes before, i had 4 at a time, it also worked with my jar
